ASTE Award III – Honorary Emeritus Membership
Any science educator, entitle to the highest recognition within the power of ASTE to confer, shall be eligible for election as an Honorary Emeritus Members, providing that such as person shall have demonstrated a distinguished career in teaching, research, or service to and in the area of education of teachers in science.
Nominations for Honorary Emeritus Membership shall be proposed in writing by at least ten active members of ASTE. Such nominations shall be supported by appropriate bibliographical information.

Note: The Chair of the Awards Committee shall
forward the list of nominees for Honorary Emeritus Membership
to the Board of Directors. Duly proposed nominees for such membership,
upon receiving endorsement of three-fourths of the Board of Directors voting,
shall be declared elected. No more than five individuals will be elected to Honorary
Emeritus status in a single year.
