Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) position in Early Childhood Education with expertise in Science or Mathematics Education

 

Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned or pending degree in Early Childhood education or a related field and a record of school teaching experience relevant to Early Childhood Education. Candidate should also have expertise in and a commitment to working with our Professional Development Schools as part of our collaborative and innovative teacher education effort. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and be prepared to pursue a research agenda which is devoted to better understanding and improving science or mathematics learning at the Early Childhood level. Experience working with diverse populations preferred.

 

Responsibilities: This tenure track position offers opportunities to teach science or mathematics education courses in the Early Childhood pre-service program as well as in an MEd in Teaching. Candidates will also have the opportunity to supervise practicum students , work with doctoral students and teach doctoral level courses. The candidate will be expected to become engaged in working with allied professionals in our Professional Development Schools and related professional field sites. The candidate will also be expected to carry out grant development and research / scholarly activities in the area of early childhood science or mathematics education.
