At each ASTE annual
conference the WISE Forum holds a “Greet, Meet, Eat, Share” Reception.
In the last few years this reception has taken place on the Friday evening
of the conference. While each reception has a unique flavor, advancing the
purpose of WISE is the reason for meeting. The variety of events that occur
have included opportunities for finding out about WISE, networking and
mentoring, discussion, and celebration of professional accomplishments and
achievements.
During
the ASTE Breakfast and Committee from Meetings from
7:00-8:00 a.m. on
Friday, January 21st the WISE Forum meeting will be held in the Marquette V room of the hotel. At the
meeting this year’s initiatives will be introduced and discussed.
The WISE Forum's 2011 Reception will be held at the
Firelake Restaurant on Friday evening, January 21, 2011. The restaurant is 5
blocks from the conference hotel at 31 South 7th Street; it is easily accessible from the
skyway.
The
$35.00 cost includes a ciabatta bruschetta starter with choice of 3 spreads, a
family style salad, choice of four entrees (see menu details below) and a mini
maple bread pudding for dessert the cost includes tax and tip. It is not
necessary to make entrée selections in advance; orders can be placed on-site at
the reception. A separate cash bar will be available. As we enjoy Minneapolis’ culinary
delicacies, we will greet friends and colleagues, network to meet newcomers to
WISE and the Association for Science Teacher Education, discuss topics of
interest and celebrate the past year's achievements and accomplishments.
