Guidelines for Submission:
You do
not need to be a member of the Association for Science Teacher Education (ASTE)
in order to submit a manuscript. However, information and applications for
membership of the ASTE can be obtained from the ASTE website or from
Dr. Eugene Wagner, ASTE
Executive Secretary, 113 Radcliff Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15237, USA,
ewagner@pitt.edu, (412) 624-2861
Springer uses a fully web-enabled
online manuscript submission and review system. Our online manuscript
submission and review system offers authors the option to track the progress of
the review process of manuscripts in real time. Manuscripts should be submitted
to: http://jste.edmgr.com
The online manuscript submission and
review system for Journal of Science Teacher Education offers easy and
straightforward log-in and submission procedures. This system supports a wide
range of submission file formats.
Authors
are encouraged to submit manuscripts no longer than 25 pages long (excluding
cover page, a 120 word abstract, and references). Manuscripts must be
double-spaced with one-inch margins using 12-point font on standard 8.5 x 11”
paper.
For submission in LaTeX, Springer have
developed a Springer LaTeX class file, which can be downloaded from:
www.springer.com/authors/jrnlstylefiles.
Use of this class file is highly recommended. Do not use versions downloaded
from other sites. Technical support is available at: texhelp@springer.com. If
you are not familiar with TeX/LaTeX, the class file will be of no use to you.
In that case, submit your article in a common word processor format.
NOTE:
By using the
online manuscript submission and review system, it is NOT necessary to submit
the manuscript also in printout + disk.
In case you encounter any difficulties
while submitting your manuscript on line, please get in touch with the
responsible Editorial Assistant by clicking on “CONTACT US” from the tool bar.
If you have any questions, please feel
free to contact us at the email
jste@utoledo.edu or call (419) 530 – 2826.
Manuscripts should not have been
previously published nor be under consideration for publication in any other
journal. Publication Manual of the American Psychological
Association (5th ed.) must be followed when writing the manuscript.
Springer Open Choice
In addition to the normal publication
process (whereby an article is submitted to the journal and access to that
article is granted to customers who have purchased a subscription), Springer
now provides an alternative publishing option: Springer Open Choice. A Springer
Open Choice article receives all the benefits of a regular subscription-based
article, but in addition is made available publicly through Springer’s online
platform SpringerLink. To publish via Springer Open Choice, upon acceptance
please visit
www.springeronline.com/openchoice
to
complete the relevant order form and provide the required payment information.
Payment must be received in full before publication or articles will publish as
regular subscription-model articles. We regret that Springer Open Choice cannot
be ordered for published articles.
