Dear [authorname],

It is our pleasure to inform you that your proposal #[proposalID]: [proposalTitle], has been accepted as a [proposalformat] for the [confyear] Association for Science Teacher Education Conference in [location]!

All proposals were peer-reviewed using a standard rubric based on the submission criteria with a final decision determined by the appropriate Thread Coordinator. All available reviewer comments and rubric ratings are provided below. We hope you find the reviewers’ comments helpful as you prepare for your presentation.

If your plans have changed and you are unable to share your work at the conference, please contact the Conference Program Team at programchair@theaste.org. Similarly, should you need to withdraw your presentation at the last minute, please inform one of the Conference Program Team members so we can make an erratum to the program. NOTE: If you will be presenting a paper as part of a Traditional Paper Set or a Themed Paper Set, you MUST have your paper available for dissemination via URL or paper copy during your session.

As of now we have begun the process of drafting the program. A link to the program draft will be sent to the first author later this fall. At that time, you will know your time, date and location of your presentation. Email is our primary means of communication; therefore, it is important for John Rhea (des@theaste.org), our Director of Electronic Services, to have your correct email address. As a reminder, the dates of the Conference are [confdates]. To read the latest news about the Conference, go to [meetingURL].

Workshop Rejection

ASTE-Logo_color

Dear [authorname],

As chair of the ASTE Professional Development Committee, I want to thank you for submitting a proposal for a workshop at the 2019 ASTE International Conference to be held in Savannah, GA.  Competition was quite strong this year, with over 30 proposals submitted—that translates to over 50 hours of programming for our 11 available hours in the conference program. This means we had to reject even very high quality proposals given our limited space.  Unfortunately, your workshop #[workshopID]: [WorkshopTitle] was not among those accepted for inclusion in the [confyear] conference program.

I have appended the reviews of your workshop proposal below.  Please share the Committee’s decision and reviews with any co-authors you may have had on the proposal. I hope you will be able to make use of the reviewer feedback as you consider future proposals for ASTE workshops, and that this will not discourage you from future submissions.  Additionally, you may wish to re-format your proposal and submit it to the ASTE program committee as roundtable, poster, or exploratory session. Those proposals are due July 9th. For more information, visit https://theaste.org/meeting/proposal-submission/

Sincerely,

Deborah Hanuscin
