West Virginia would like to welcome you all to the 2019 Mid Atlantic – Association of Science Teacher Educators regional conference at the beautiful Pipestem Resort in Pipestem, WV, September 27-28. Pipestem Resort State Park gets its name from the native pipestem or meadowsweet plant used by Indigenous Peoples and early pioneers as hollowed-out pipe stems for their tobacco pipes.
Lodging will be in the McKeever Lodge or in one of their two to four bedroom cabins (cabins go quickly so reserve early if you want one). Lodge rooms will be $93.00 per room/ per night/ plus tax. Cabins vary by size and availability. The conference rate is good for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday but you will have to specifically request the conference rate for Saturday night if you are staying till Sunday. There is also a campground if you prefer bringing your own lodging with you.

Come early and stay late. There is plenty to do at Pipestem Resort State Park including local artisan shop, indoor pool, Mountain biking, hiking, and fishing (licenses can be obtained at www.wvfish.com). And of course during your “down time” between all of the activities you plan to do at this beautiful park, we will have a wonderful slate of presentations from our colleagues across the region and social time to get to know the newcomers and catch up with the regulars we don’t get to see very often.
