Dr. Jessica Riccio, and Dr. Amanda Gunning are thrilled to announce our partnership with Regeneron as the 2016 NE-ASTE Regional Conference Partner. As in years past, our partner will host the Thursday portion of the conference at their location.
This year, we worked hard to incorporate the theme of our parent organization, to promote the identification of “Innovative Science Educators” in our communities. So often as Science Teacher Educators, we work with leaders in the community and in industry, but we do not have an opportunity to discuss the intersections of our work.
The Program at Regeneron this year will include a welcome Cocktail Networking Reception, tours of the groundbreaking laboratories on site (registration required), a poster session, a robust roundtable session with leaders in STEM education focused on:
- strategies for developing important relationships with Industry in STEM
- examples of how to cultivate youth talent and engagement in the STEM pipeline
- a focus on additional ways to attract underserved communities of learners into STEM
We are very proud to begin these important conversations with our partners in Science Education who traditionally do not work in the academic settings we currently serve.
